ALEXANDRA PALACE AND PARK FEBRUARY 2026 REPORT
Main points from the latest Board of Trustees of the Alexandra Palace and Park Charitable Trust meeting:
- World Darts Championship secured until at least 2031. During the most recent tournament, it was announced that darts will remain at Ally Pally long-term, with increased capacity and a move into the Great Hall, reinforcing the Palace’s role as the sport’s global home.
- The Red Bull Soapbox Race will return to the Park on Saturday, 20 June 2026.
- The outdoor summer concerts 2026 have been announced, including The Maccabees, Wet Leg, Kaleidoscope Festival, Super Furry Animals, The Streets and Richard Ashcroft between 9th and 18th July. As in previous years, road closures will be in place, with details to be shared with residents closer to the time.
- A major new attraction, “Summit: Alexandra Palace Rooftop Adventure”, is due to open on 14th February 2026, offering public access to the roof and views across London.
- The Boating Lake Café refurbishment is now complete, with a new kitchen, seating and lakeside-focused design, improving day-to-day visitor facilities. The transformation from the old café is impressive, and I highly recommend that you visit.
- Ally Pally has once again achieved London in Bloom Gold awards for Large Park Conservation Area, and Heritage Parks & Gardens, plus a silver-gilt environmental award, recognising ongoing work by staff and volunteers.
- Conservation work continues on the Palace itself, including East Court masonry repairs, heritage skills training for staff, and preparation for further work.
- Work is progressing on longer-term carbon reduction plans, including secondary glazing bids and a Mayor of London-funded “Zero Carbon Accelerator” project to plan future investment.
- Further updates are expected in spring 2026 on funding bids, road closure details for summer events, and progress on larger projects such as the Panorama Room replacement and the proposed Creative Campus redevelopment.
