05/21 Rookfield Estate- Felling of Protected Tree

An application has been made to Haringey Council on behalf of the new owners of the tennis courts on the Rookfield Estate, for permission to fell this 35 foot horse chestnut tree. The tree is subject to a Tree Preservation Order.

Those campaigning for the tree’s retention feel that felling is unnecessary, and point out that no attempt appears to have been made to identify possible alternative courses of action before the application to fell was submitted. A replacement tree would take many years to reach maturity.
