Planning Report October 2026
Since the previous committee report, there have been 78 applications in the wards covered by the Association, with two objections lodged. This represents an increase of approximately 25% on the number reported previously. Most applications continue to concern small, uncontested domestic projects.
Updates on previously reported applications
1. 13 Bedford Road. There has been no change since the last report. A decision to grant consent was reportedly made a year ago, but no decision has been posted, apparently pending the completion of legal agreements.
2. 25 Coniston Road. The refusal of an application for front garden parking and a dropped kerb was appealed, but the appeal was subsequently dismissed.
3. 20 Crescent Road. An application for rear external storage buildings did not provide sufficient detail of the project and its impact. The Association therefore objected, stating that no positive decision should be made on the information available at that time. Additional plans have now been lodged, but no decision had been made at the time of writing. The Association will not be maintaining its objection.
4. 30 Church Crescent. The Association objected to an application for a dropped kerb and front garden parking, but conditional consent was granted in July.
New matters
1. 9 Alexandra Park Road. The Association objected in August to an application for a dropped kerb to create vehicular access to the front garden. The application was refused earlier this month.
2. 149 Victoria Road. An application to replace the windows would remove original detailing, creating a bland street-facing frontage. The Association has objected, stating that it supports improvements to a building’s thermal efficiency, including replacing single glazing with double glazing, but that the design should comply with Haringey’s development guidelines.
