336-338 Muswell Hill Broadway (former premises of the JHK estate agency): planning permission has been granted for a new shopfront. Significant changes were made to the scheme following representations by the Association.

There was considerable concern when an application was submitted to build over the single-storey shops in Fortis Green Road next to the cinema to provide nine flats.  Work never started on the scheme, and we understand that the proposal has now been dropped.

Currently, the vast majority of appeals to the Planning Inspectorate against the refusal of planning applications are made using what is known as the written procedure.  In the future, these appeals will be decided solely based on documents lodged up to the point when permission was refused by the Council – i.e., the Inspector will not accept any fresh representations.
