May 2025 Environment Report
  1. Haringey Parks Department
    • Midhurst Green: liaising with the Haringey Parks Department for promised new rose bushes to fill in the gaps.
    • Pocket Park: the Association has allocated a budget of £500 for new planting on the raised beds next to Angela Rose. We are awaiting a quote for the work to be done by a local gardener.
    • Benches next to the Association’s noticeboard in the Broadway: the missing back support to one of the benches has finally been repaired.
  2. Commemoration of the MHFGA’s 75th Anniversary
    • There has been no response so far from Highways regarding a plaque on one of the benches above, funded by the Association to commemorate the MHFGA’s 75th Anniversary.
    • New Tree at the Muswell Hill bus terminus: still awaiting for a response from the planting team.
  3. Muswell Hill Broadway Flower Boxes and the Trough: new geraniums purchased and planted.
  4. Colney Hatch Lane Beds: they are doing well and shall continue to be regularly maintained.
  5. Trees for Streets – Crowdfunding for Trees in Muswell Hill: we have sent the list of possible new tree locations to Haringey so they can arrange for Highways to test for services and all other issues. The locations are for the13 trees which will be planted from November 2025.
  6. Street Bins: we have reported to Veola the disappearance of the street bin at the junction of Woodside Avenue and Gulliver Place. Action is to be taken.
  7. Graffiti & Fly Tipping: we have reported several instances, and Veolia has responded very promptly.
