Alexandra Palace and Park July 2026 Report

The June Consultative Committee covered a broad range of operational updates across the Palace and Park, together with discussions on outdoor events, anti-social driving and longer-term improvements.

A significant part of the meeting was devoted to the continuing problem of anti-social behaviour by late-night motorists and motorcyclists on Alexandra Palace Way. The Head of Security, together with representatives from the Metropolitan Police, attended to discuss the issue with local residents.

The Trust and the police are working together on a range of measures, including increased patrols, reviewing CCTV coverage, possible speed-reduction measures and improved evidence gathering. Residents were encouraged to continue reporting incidents to help build the evidence base needed for enforcement action, but not to intervene directly, due to obvious safety concerns.

Members also received an update on this summer’s outdoor events programme, including the July Summer Series concerts and Kaleidoscope Festival. Following feedback from residents, a second public entrance will be introduced this year to help disperse crowds more effectively, while Transport for London has agreed a revised W3 diversion route intended to reduce disruption for local residents.

The Trust reported continued strong performance across its entertainment and visitor attractions, with the Summit rooftop experience, boating lake and Boathouse Café all attracting healthy visitor numbers. Work is also continuing on a wide range of heritage, environmental and infrastructure projects, including energy-efficiency improvements, restoration works, improved mobile connectivity and the development of a new ten-year Park Management Plan.

One particularly encouraging update concerned the proposed wetlands boardwalk in the south-east corner of the Park. A joint crowdfunding campaign by the Trust and Friends of Alexandra Park exceeded its original £10,000 target within two days and has now raised more than £24,000.

Subject to planning permission, the boardwalk will form the next phase of the wetlands improvement project, improving public access while protecting this important habitat.
