01/23 Changes to routes 234, 263 and 271

From Saturday 4 February, Transport for London is making some changes to bus routes in north London.

Affected are routes 234, 263 and 271.

In particular,

  • Route 234 will be extended and will run beyond Highgate Wood to Archway calling at stops on Archway Road, including stops near Archway and Highgate stations (for the Northern line).
  • Route 263 will be re-routed and run via North Hill, North Road, Highgate Village, Highgate Hill and Whittington Hospital. So, it will no longer serve stops on Archway Road between Highgate Wood and Archway station. For travel in this area, use extended route 234.
  • Route 271 will be withdrawn and there will no more be direct connection between Highgate Village and Moorgate.
  • New night bus N271 will be introduced and run between Moorgate, Finsbury Square and North Finchley via Highgate Village and Finchley Memorial Hospital. The service will run every 30 minutes every night of the week and serve all stops currently served by overnight services on the 24-hour route 271.
