Alexandra Palace and Park October 2025 Report

Main points from the Board of Trustees of the Alexandra Palace and Park Charitable Trust August meeting:
- Several big outdoor concerts packed the park in July, plus the Kaleidoscope festival with Faithless and Goldie. There was excellent feedback from attendees. The Summer Series will be back in 2026.
- The theatre staged Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and hosted family favourites like Tom Gates Live and Dinosaurs Live.
- The Boating Lake jetty repairs are complete – full structural renewal means safer and longer-lasting access for boaters.
- Phase One of the Boating Lake upgrade delivered: rewired boat hire facilities, new lighting, and refurbished toilets for visitors.
- The boathouse café to reopen in the autumn.
- Lake aerators were serviced during the hot spell to protect wildlife.
- Market research surveys to take place in the Park and at the Boating Lake.
- In the park, the hot summer hit water levels, but action was taken to reduce risks
- 14 tons of rubbish collected in June – a reminder of how heavily the park is used.
- Bee orchids bloomed again near the paddock car park, thanks to a gentler mowing regime. Hummingbird hawk-moths were also spotted.
- Play area & skate park repairs may cause temporary closures.
- The East Court Café refurbishment is nearly done – safer, cleaner, and better suited to its historic setting.
- Archive projects ongoing, including a new display celebrating Val Paley’s (former member of the Board) decades of local activism.
- The 35th anniversary of the Ice Rink to be marked with community displays.
- The new rooftop adventure attraction, “Summit”, is under construction and due to open soon to the public.
