Community Fund 2026
Small grants to grassroots projects in Muswell Hill, Fortis Green and Alexandra ward.
1. What we’ll fund
Tangible items, equipment, materials and small fixtures that a local group, school, charity or resident-led project needs in order to do something specific and beneficial for the neighbourhood. Past examples: refurbishing the booking-hall floor at CUFOS (£1,160), new equipment for the Fortis Green Kids’ Club (£360).
We do not split the pot by sector. Any applicant in Muswell Hill, Fortis Green or Alexandra ward who can describe a tangible item and the public benefit it delivers is welcome to apply. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

2. Award sizes
- Pot. Total pot for this round: up to £1,500.
- Range. Individual award range: £100 to £500.
- Typical. Most awards likely £200 to £400. Up to three or four awards from the pot in a typical year.
- Flex. If a stronger single project comes in, the committee may choose to make one larger award.
3. Apply
Eight short questions, aimed at twenty minutes to complete, not two hours.
4. Decision process
Jeff Snyder, our Community Fund administrator, reviews each application against the criteria above and prepares a short summary for the full committee during the next committee meeting. The committee makes the final decision during this meeting. Applicants receive a brief written response either way, normally within two weeks of the committee meeting.
5. Reporting and telling the story
- Light reporting. Grantees send a short note, around 150 to 300 words, plus a photo where possible, within six months of receiving the grant.
- Newsletter and website. With the grantee’s permission, we feature the project in the next newsletter and on the website.
- Returns. If funds cannot be spent, they come back to the Association.
