Electric buses on routes 43 and 134

Routes 43 and 134 have become the UK’s first bus routes to use only electric double-deck buses. The 43 runs from Friern Barnet to London Bridge, while the 134 runs from North Finchley to Warren Street, both serving Muswell Hill. These zero-emission buses help  reduce carbon emissions and improve the air for all Londoners.  Also, journeys on electric buses are smoother and quieter than one with a traditional engine and passengers will have access to free-to-use USB charging points.

London currently has more than 200 electric buses, making it Europe’s largest electric bus fleet, and this will grow significantly next year as Transport for London (TfL) has awarded contracts to operators for a further 78 electric double-deck buses.
