This year we had 29 entries from 13 individuals ranging in age from 9 to a lot older. The standard was certainly higher than last year with more taken on digital cameras as opposed to mobile devices. The judging was anonymous: they did not know the identity of the entrants.
The three judges were:
• Graham Parkinson, who became seriously interested in photography while in India and then joined our Local Society,
• John Crompton, a keen amateur and member of the Association Committee
• Zoe Norfolk, a professional photographer http://www.zoenorfolk.com/
The winners, and the unanimous decision of the judges, were:
In 1st place is Tom Buckland’s Image taken of roasting coffee beans in Martyn’s iconic shop in the Broadway entitled “Full of Beans”, a ritual that has been going on for over 100 years. £50 Prize.
In 2nd place is Birgit Kaye for “Beauty Not Just in the Eye of the Beholder”, a delightful image of one of the Association‘s Flower Boxes at the Roundabout. £30 Prize.
In 3rd place is 16 year old Patrick Simpson of Fortismere School for his long exposure shot, “Broadway Lights”. £15 Prize.
